Lead Vocals
I really appreciate how adjustable the mic stand is. I like the versatility of being able to have a boom, a boom stand, as well as a straight stand, and I like how everything is very easily maneuverable. In the middle of a song, if I notice something isn’t right, I can move the stand any way I want. I like having the iPad right there in case I need to reference lyrics and I can move it easily from one side to the other. The accessory tray is really helpful if we get requests; I can put the little slips right there.
“You feel responsible for the look of the band, and how it’s presented to the is important, simply because the gear that we use needs to be reliable. It needs to be constructed well.” Because of this, JR feels anxious performing during a gig when a stand isn’t reliable, and tilts from the weight of an iPad or a wireless mic. “Tripods are always great because they even out the weight and shift it perfectly. Some stands have the dome at the bottom that can sometimes just kind of move, no matter how heavy it is. I’d rather have a tripod just because that distributes the weight evenly.”
Jon Myers
Lead Vocals, Guitar & Keyboard
Hercules Stands are great because they give me a confidence that they’re going to protect and hold my instruments where they need to be and are not going to fall off. The keyboard stand is sturdy. I tested it and it’s going to keep those in place. And the microphone stands – I mean, they feel great! The grips are easy to maneuver and adjust on the fly.
Being the lead vocalist that also plays guitar, keyboard and occasionally bass, Jon needed a setup that was versatile, but secure as he moves back and forth from the keyboard station to the front of the stage. “People jump on stage, or if you’re moving around and you lose track of where you are, you can bump into things. You don’t want that risk of something falling off and getting damaged when you can completely avoid it. So it’s important to have a good stand in the mix.”

Danny Werner
Lead Guitar & Background Vocals
Hercules has been my go-to for guitar stands my entire life. During a show, I might only have 10-15 seconds to change guitars. The Hercules three guitar stand is perfect because I know exactly which guitar I’m going for and they’ve got a little bit of space around them. I can just reach around and grab one and it’s out, and I’m not worrying about smashing it into another guitar. It just keeps shaving off seconds.
During a typical show, Danny will have 2-3 guitars, Line 6 Helix, an amp and mic stand. Although he is the typical guitar player that “has a few of them,” Danny prefers to keep his setup as minimal as possible, something he can carry in one trip. “The last thing I want is to be carrying 2-3 guitars with like 3 stands under each arm and then trying to walk 200 yards to the door, crossing streets and dodging cars and things like that.”

Casey Ritter
Bass & Background Vocals
I have had a lot of trouble finding a stand for my Kiesel bass because it does not have a headstock on it. I absolutely adore this collapsible guitar stand because the solid base locks in right next to the tuning pegs and I can adjust it. Its not going to go anywhere and I have no worries the whole time on stage. It collapses down and it fits in the front pocket of my gig bag and I just love it.
Like Danny, Casey likes to keep his setup small and consolidated with his Kiesel 5-string bass, Gibson 4-string, pedalboard, and amp that he can carry in one trip. When he has to quickly switch between instruments and theres a lot going on stage, Casey needed a stand that he can trust to not fall over like stands he’s experienced in the past.

Jonas Weathers
Saxophone & Background Vocals
Musicians know whether you’re a weekend warrior, garage band, touring musician, studio, or professional, your gear is everything. So having Hercules that’s built to last, you feel more safe. I’m really pumped about the stability of this saxophone stand and the way that it grips the bell. In the past, I’ve had some stands that might tilt a little bit, but this gripping the bell is awesome and the height is awesome. Couldn’t be happier!
Ever since high school, Jonas has been a touring musician. While he plays flute, soprano sax and a little bit of tenor sax, alto sax is his main horn. “I got one of Hercules first sax stands. I had another stand before and it was not as versatile as Hercules and not near as beefy. One of the acts I was with at the time played a little sax as well. He did not have a Hercules stand, it wasn’t a bad stand, but it proceeded to fall over and he couldn’t play the rest of the show. We went out and hooked him up with Hercules and it was good since then.”
Ray Balz
Drums, Band Leader
This is just going to make life easier at gigs. From the overhead mics to the clip ons, which are amazing, and the kick drum mic with that cut out and the stands here and this stand, everything is just so perfectly done. When I show up to gigs now – and I’m looking forward to it – I can’t wait to actually get out there and play our show and be like, ‘Hey, check this out!’
Ray will typically perform on a four-piece kit (snare, kick drum, rack tom, and floor tom) and will have a small mixer to run backing tracks. In the past, he has used drum mics that clip to the drums, but has found it changes the tone. While they’re still convenient and are better than carrying 5-6 mic stands to a show, Ray was looking for an alternative.
Speaker & Lighting Stands
You need something that’s going to be really sturdy. We’ve just been through so many stands and it cuts into your budget when you have to replace them all the time. The other speaker and lighting stands you couldn’t get that high. Then to get it as high as you could get it, you struggle to put a pin in. The Hercules speaker and lighting stands are very easy and very convenient.
